Peter V. Cornelis
Peter has a heartfelt inspiring story, with a high energy message, detailing a goal oriented comeback from being paralyzed and deathly ill from a full blown stroke and brain surgery, to full recovery. He was paralyzed, unable to talk and fed thru a tube for a year. His message point is you can empower people and yourself to attain reasonable and stretch goals, and you can make people willing partners in that goal. After 20 years in sales and marketing positions Peter had 12 ½ years of complications from six strokes. The last stroke he had, left him paralyzed, unable to talk and fed through a feeding tube for a year. He was not given much hope that he would survive and if he did, it was assumed that there would be serious deficits. His wife and children were told that he would be a very needy person. Peter’s story, is a story of survival and resilience up over a long period of time and demonstrates that constant dedication can make a difference.
After three years of intensive goal oriented physical and mental challenges, Peter succeeded in his efforts towards full rehabilitation. . He had gone the distance and then some. He also found out that sometimes haviug goals were the thing that helped him walk, speak and improve his memory.
Peter is now the President of Hope for Stroke, which is an organization that he started, dedicated to helping stroke survivors and their care givers make the journey as far as they can in recovery. He has been on TV shows, in several Newspapers and radio stations. Because of his past public speaking experience in sales and marketing and his current role, he can deliver a very powerful, upbeat, professional, motivational and informative speaking engagement. It is something the listener definitely takes home with them.
