By Kimberly Reuffer, RN
.
Kimberly reminded us of a very important issue, and I have one (Peter V Cornelis), that our Children if a parent or both had an Aneurysm should most definitely do the following.
.
A relative just burst an aneurysm, she was
asking the family if aneurysms where
HEREDITARY. I guess being a nurse I get
flustered when people dont know BASIC
information. Here is the golden rule that I
was taught
If a family member has an aneurysm, all
family members should be screened
Children of aneurysm patient, if under 18 no
tests unless child presents symptoms,
headaches, balance problems, seizure, then
full neuro work up. If no neuro symptoms at
age 18 CT scan on yearly basis.
