Nesconset Day 09/13/09


H.O.P.E. for Stroke joined Nesconset Nursing and Rehab, Stonybrook Hospital and Judy's Run.

Together we offered free Blood Pressure checks and information on Stroke Awareness.

Many thanks to Rob Heppenhiemer of Nesconset rehab. A crowded day of about 10,000 people.

H.O.P.E. for Stroke appearance on TELECARE TV with Dr. John Pile Spellman and Dr. Randolph Marshall of Columbia Presbyterian Hospital. Both are Neurologists that have followed Peter V Cornelis' history of more than a decade.  Dr. Frank Field moderated the show. It was an hour show dedicated to stroke.




Adelphi University stroke and aphasia presentation for the speech pathologists of tomorrow                       

Stephanie Demonte gave an inspiring account and one full of hope on what it is like to have aphasia.  Stephanie is working toward going to medical school.  She is a very inspiring young lady. We thank her for her participation and we thank Cory, her husband, for getting her there.

Joe Foley covered depression and its influence on recovery.  He discussed how it feels and how it affects the Stroke Survivor.  He also gave a first hand account and how to find your way out.

Peter Cornelis spoke about the H.O.P.E. for Stroke Organization and what it is like to be a stroke survivor.  He also gave some insight of what the future of stroke technology looks like.

Westbury Times 8/23/07 : Foley Joins H.O.P.E. for Stroke Foundation.  Joe Foley of Old Westbury, former director at the Bank of America and principal for 10 years+  at Morgan Stanley & Company, has joined the H.O.P.E. for Stroke Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to helping stroke survivors and caregivers. Mr. Foley will serve as Vice President of Operations as well as a member of its Board of Directors.
